Well, this might be a little too much...
I thought i had it set like gain on zero, with the Level maxed and the Tone on 9 o'clock on the TS-Side of the Pedal and the TC-Side set with everything on 12 o'clock , which is more like ten o'clock, because of how the pots are mounted and the Red Channel engaged, when i went to my rehearsal room downstairs...
It's hard to go back :D
I've added two Mixes starting at 1:01 after the Solo Part. The first one is just two hard panned Tracks left/right and on the second one i added a third "solo" guitar track.

I might be a crackhead but I don't think that is too much gain, lol. Maybe a tad too much but for heavier stuff it sounds killer.

Very Slipknotty :dunno:

In the mix sounds great. I think it would sound a tad better with the guitars forwarded and drums backed off at tad. a TAD.

Dude your band is called 'Thy Final Pain'... if anything it isn't *enough* gain.

I actually can't tell if it's too much gain or not because it's like it's miced up way off axis or something

That's probably a stylistic choice that i'm not used to, but because of that and the drop z I have no idea what the correct amount of gain would be

Drop Z 😂

There's too much gain when the amount of gain works against the artistic intent. If the artist's intention is to have too much gain, then too much gain is exactly the right amount.

Having said that, that clip doesn't sound like too much gain. It does sound like you meant to dial in a fuckton of gain though.

If I can listen for half a second and smugly say “nobody needs that much gain” while plinking around on my teal 10-top PRS (set to the coil-split neck pickup, obviously) through a Swart amp that looks like a TV from the 40’s, then it’s way too much gain. Way too much.
