How to convert a closed back 2x12 to an open back?

Any math or science that I should be aware of here besides getting a piece of plywood and cutting? I'm looking for a different sound out of my Orange PPC212.

If you've done it before, let me know any tips or tricks you used to get just the right size.
 
I had my Splawn cab mad with a removable back panel. I've tried it with it off but like it better with it on

I did, thanks! The envelope was held by the post office as "suspicious" too, I had to go in person to pick it up.

I think I'm not getting the clean tone I want out of any of my cabinets because of the closed back.

lol, sorry about that. Not sure what couldve been so "suspicious" about it :confused:

as far as the cab goes, it does sound better for the clean stuff open...but I'm all about the 'crunch' :yes: ;) ....plus my Quickrod's clean is not that great anyways :thumbsdown:
