Hey folks! Made a fun and pretty in depth video about how I've been going about micing up and recording guitar amps recently. Getting some cool sounds from a Peavey 5150 II and a Matchless Chieftain in this one. Hope you dig it!

@zzwish - love the videos, all of your tones and song choices are right in my sweet spot On the Les Pauls, are you using the same string gauge for regular and drop tunings? An off the shelf set?

Thanks very much! On Les Pauls, I tend to use 10-52 for E Standard, Drop D, 1/2 Step Down, and Drop C#. I like the tighter bottom strings since I can tend to have a heavy hand. My main band plays in Drop C, so I'd been using an 11-56 set for that tuning but you can get away with a 10-52 as well, it's just a bit looser for my tastes.

I really like blending with the sE Electronics VR1 ribbon mic. That is the most natural of all the mics I've tried.

Usually 10-46 for E Standard and 10-52 for 1/2 step down, Drop C#, D Standard and Drop C. But again, there's lots of ways to go about it, this is just personal preference after experimenting over the years.
