Hi guys,

I believe that Load/ReLoad has an amazing guitar sound, possible Metallicas best guitar sound!

Which amp would nail the sound the best?

It really depends on which album you are talking about. Kirk used the same rig on both (right channel), however, Hetfields rig was totally different.

Remember the guy from HC that nailed the Load tones with his Triaxis and Strategy 400? I think his clips are still up somewhere?

I shall play around with my Recto and see if I can come up with a sound like this after I'm done switching tubes around.

Hetfield's tone on Reload is IMO the best recorded rhythm guitar ever. I think that a big part of that tone is in the cab/mics/micing technique.

I see alot of people on different forums say a recto will get you those tones but did james or kirk ever record with them?

Yeah, you can hear the recto very clearly in kirks tone, but it's blended. If hetfield used one they barely mixed it in. I don't hear any recto in his tone.

I'm gonna have to say ReLoad.

Does that mean that a Wizard amp would give me that sound? Or is it all in the recording technique?

It sounds awesome!

:-D
