Please help! I have a Carvin V3 amplifier, which has 3 channels and midi control capability, and I have a Digitech GSP 1101, which I control with the Digitech Control 2 foot controller. I can control all 3 channels of the Carvin V3 through the Digitech GSP 1101 but I can only do so using parameters 1, 2 & 3 on the GSP 1101 but I would like assign each channel of the Carvin V3 to the Digitech GSP 1101 in different presets/banks. Please help.

Thank you!!!

If you pull the GSP1101 out of the equation and just connect the foot controller to the Carvin, does that work as expected?

No, unfortunately the foot controller is designed to controll the GSP 1101.

Does the GSP1101 have a midi-thru? If this is your unit then it does and you should be fine.

Yes it does!
See above. You will be using in this case the GSP1101 to control your Carvin amp.

you're better off putting the gsp1101 in 5-patch mode, creating your patches assigning whatever v3 channel you want for each patch. When you save your patches, save the setting on the v3 at the same time with that patch # and it will re-call that channel when you go back to that patch #. So you can have 5 patches per bank assigned to whatever channels you want on the v3. Plus you can also use the top row of buttons on the Contro2 for od/delay/reverb/fx on/off. Are you wired for 4-cable?

How do you save midi patches on the GSP1101?

push the store button, give it a name, push the store button 2 more times.
suggest taking the time to read through the manual, it should shed some light on what you can do with the unit.

I guess, I know how to save patches, name them and save them, but I have read the manual more than a few times and some how the only thing I can do is switch the Carvin V3 channels only on the first 3 patches of the Digitech GSP 1101. But thank you anyway. I will continue to persist.

Yes seems you are doing it correctly on the gsp, but you have to save on the v3. Looks like you can save up to 100 patches. Make sure gsp and v3 are on the same midi channel.

MIDI PROGRAMMING FEATURES:
The V3 will save the following settings in a MIDI program location
(1 thru 100):
a.) The channel selection 1, 2, or 3.
b.) The LOOP1 and LOOP2 on/off settings.
c.) The BOOST on/off setting.
d.) The REVERB on/off setting.
e.) The LED backlight color setting
Volume, tone, and drive mode settings will not be saved.
TO ENTER MIDI / PROGRAM MODE:
1.) Hold down the channel SELECT switch for the channel
setting you wish to save (1,2,or 3).
2.) While holding down the first switch in step 1, press the
other two SELECT switches, and release all three at the same
time. The LOOP1 LED will be flashing.
3.) From your MIDI controller, select (send) the MIDI patch
number you wish to save. The LOOP2 LED will flash once to
confirm. Normal operation is resumed.
To turn the BOOST on before saving the patch, (perform steps
1 and 2 above) then press and release the LOOP 1 switch.
The green BOOST LED will come on. Then perform steps 1-
3 to save patch.
