I've done some searching, but am still a bit confused as to the how and with what.... I bought an Ultra about a month ago, first this isn't a thread about the new Axe or anything, I love my Ultra, and plan on keeping it, I had no idea with the release of the new Axe that there was a new Firmware update, I was curious in checking it out, but have no idea how to hook it up to my computer, I did a bit of research on the Fractal Forums and the like, and some people are having good results with this.....

Will this work for me? I have an Apple iMac, and a cheap M-Audio interface but it doesn't have MIDI, what's the best way of going about updating without having to buy gear I will never use?

Thanks Fellas!!

I read somewhere that the Uno might have problems depending on the computer etc... I updated mine with an Mbox2 and it worked perfectly.

i would go with a 1x1, i think i read problems with the uno. I have a 2x2.

Just hook it to the uno with some midi cables, download axe-edit and the new firmware, and you will tell axe-edit to update to new firmware, pick it, then go to the axe utility button, page to the update firmware and press enter.... wait about 5 minutes for the axe to reboot and done.

The UNO does have problems but I was able to update my firmware with it with a Mac and axe edit no problem.

Go to settings tab and check midi in and out. Mine always says the loopback test failed but works anyway. Following a tip i saw I changed e midi buffer time

Set axe edit to recall from the axe fx, it's a drop down menu on the recall button.

Go to utilities menu in axe and go to update page. It tells you to press enter to put the axe in receive mode.do that.

Then go to axe edit and in the settings tab look for the drop down system update. Press it.

It took about ten minutes or so and worked perfectly.

Don't give up, cliff applued som of he new power amp modeling from axe2, 11 is a big improvement in feel and sound. So much so it convinced me to dump axe and I'll b getting axe2.

Thanks man, I'll go pick one up today and give it a shot, I'm holding onto my Axe until Axe 2 is released and I can hear some reviews, I'm pissed that I just bought mine, but the announcement of a new unit didn't all of a sudden make mine sound bad, I love it...
