How to use my Einstein through my Mesa F-50 combo speaker?

I wanna use the combo speaker in my F-50 and run the Einstein through it.

By the look of it the F-50 uses a single 8 ohm speaker. You should be able to plug it straight in to an 8 ohm out speaker socket on the Einstein.

nope, it's not working man.

I unplugged the cable that connected the F-50 circuitry to the speaker (it was connected in an 8ohm plug, and I connected a cable from that 8ohm out to one of the 8ohm out in my Einstein.

No sound.

any ideas?

did i just understand you correct that you connected the 8ohm-out of the F-50 with the 8-ohm out of the einstein?

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, you need to unplug the speaker cable from the F-50 and plug it directly into the equivalent port on the Einstein... This will run the speaker in the combo with the Einstein. Do not power the F-50 on.

Do not plug the Einie & F-50 amps together!!

the f-50 has a black shadow speaker and my cab has v30s......... so far I'm digging the black shadow wayy better.

Its not 100% speaker what you like better, but 90% the "open" configuration of the combo which you like better.

hmmmm interesting...might be

my cab is a closed/open cab...I can remove 1/3 of the back pannel and make it a semi open back cab...I'll try that.



anyways, the sound is smoother.......wouldn't you say it's the speaker also?

Well - you needed to put the Mesa speaker into the cab to compare . . . but if you can open the cab: do it

the black shadow may also be broken in a bit more as well. Plus the cab geometry is much different if im not mistaken. This makes a large impact, as well as the most important closed vs open configuration.

Make sure you are using speaker cables and not regular guitar cables.......!

No worries.....

that was no worse than me asking about the connectors for a 2 button footswitch. I lost my brain for a few minutes there and it was fine after. You'll heal!

Glad to hear it sounds nicer! I'm gathering you may change those V-30s out of your cab eventually?

I don't know YET......maybe those V30s need to loosen up a bit........I'll try opening the cab and make it a 3/4 open back. Maybe I'll like it more.
