hows the 5153 50 watt noise floor?

considering picking one up. hows the noise floor on these? particularly that blue channel. im kinda neurotic about not using a gate. my marshall type amps are super quiet. so needing a gate would be a deal breaker for me. tia!

Nah, you won’t need a gate...especially on the blue channel.

Red channel could be a bit noisy, but the blue was very quiet.

Yeah, I agree with everyone above. I think that amp gets a bad rap because people talk sometimes about noise. There is so much gain on tap with those amps that if someone dimes it, obviously there will be noise. I played one a few months ago in a store and forgot how awesome those amps are.

Very low noise floor. If someone’s having a problem with noise or needs a gate, they’re using too much gain.

I don't own one but it was one thing that stuck out to me when I was playing one. I remember thinking something along the lines of 'damn a lot of gain and not a lot of noise for a lot of gain.'

The last times I have played them, I kind of fell out of of love with it.

My band has lots of stops so I use a gate but it's still a badass amp.
