Here's the story:

I purchased a Friedman modded 70's Marshall JMP a few months ago from a guy off of thegearpage. After getting it, I was having some problems with it. I post on the Friedman board and Dave said for me to send it to him, that he would fix it for free. Sweet! So I send it off to him. The guy I bought it from was cool and he paid for shipping from here (NC) to Dave in CA. Dave sends it back to me on his dime. Unfortunately, the problem persists. I message Dave, and he immediately sends me a return shipping label. I send it back to CA. He finds the problem, fixes it, and sends it back to me again. Once again, shipped to me on his dime.

So, I buy a second hand amp with Friedman's mods. It has problems. He fixes the amp, and pays for shipping not once, but 3 times. To recap, Dave has received no money from me. The amp does have Dave's mods, but I bought it from someone else.

Moral of the story, Dave Friedman has the best service in the industry!

Thanks Dave!

Good stuff there. One day I will try one of his. Hopefully the Cantrel

Does Dave still do mods on amps or is he all tied up with his production models?
great when you get customer service like that!
I remember years ago I had a simple issue with a G&L Will Ray guitar I had bought (only new guitar Ive still ever had lol) and Will himself emailed me with the solution ;)

Its the small things in life!

I have had similar experiences with Dave over the past 4-5 years. It didn't matter if I bought a modded amp, he modded one for me, or it was a Cameron/Friedman amp, he stands behind his work.

Really cool. I'v had the same kinda experience with a second hand amp.

+1 I placed a similar thread regarding my recent experience in the friedman forum

I had a similar experience with Dave and my BE100. Hell of a good dude!

Awesome to hear.
Noted for when I can make a big amp purchase...

While its commendable that he ultimately came through, I think one failed attempt at fixing the problem hardly qualifies as the best service in the industry. You didn't mention whether or not Dave said it was fixed before he sent it to you the first time.

I had a great experience with Dave as well, just a great guy.
What was the problem with your amp if you don't mind me asking?

That's just insane. To be honest, I'd probably require a customer to at least cover shipping charges. Props to Dave for sure.

Wow, GREAT customer service. This is definitely NOT helping my GAS for a Friedman!
