Anybody have any experience w/ H&K cabs, more specifically 4x12's? I can get one w/ V30's for a decent price but won't be able to jam through it first. I've watched some factory videos, made in Germany, etc, high quality control, etc. Looks to be right up there with most better quality cabs.

I have a VC412A. Have it for over 4 years now or so. Build quality is impeccable. Great sound as well. The looks are a hit or miss, but I personally like it :). I had a good deal on a new one at a local musicstore.

Both me and the other guitar player in my band have H&K cc412's. They are the best cabs I have ever played.

As the others have said, the Custom Class 4X12's are top shelf no matter what speakers they're loaded with. I had one wit G1275T's and it was the only cab with 75's that I've ever liked enough to own (and I did).

They sell 2 different quality cabs. There is the ones that retail around $1,000, these are great cabs, excellent wiring, all plywood. Then they make the discount cab :(

The cabs are solid -- one thing I can't understand is why their go-to speaker is the V30. As an owner both current and prior of five different Hughes & Kettner amps I can say with certainty that Hughes & Kettner amps are extremely picky about the cabs they're paired with. I've found that the best tones I've got out of my Hughes & Kettner amps have been through Celestion greenbacks or Heritage 30's. The TriAmp MK II is a MONSTER through a 4 x12 with Heritage 30's. Either on amp 3A or 2B with a tube screamer. The Switchblade likes the G12S-50's the best but they're not made any more. The Trilogy (probably the most underrated amp out there) likes Splawn Small Blocks.
