Does anyone have any experience with the H&K Coreblade? How good is this amp for 80's metal?

I had a switchblade combo. It was a pretty sophisticated amp.. The tones were pretty decent. I used it it and a JMP-1 preamp combined. for an 80's metal band I was in a few years ago..

I haven't used the Coreblade, but from the stuff I've read about it it's supposed to be a more modern voice for heavier metal. Extremely overpriced for what it is.

I have two Switchblades, the head and the combo. I've never been thrilled with the the combo. The head with the right cabinet sounds much better to me. I have a Mesa Recto 2x12 that sounds better for the scooped out metal sounds. I also have a Red Bear 4x12 with Celestion G12L-35's in it. Supposedly cheaper Greenbackish speakers. It definitely sounds better for the lower gain sounds. With either one I've been able to get some great 80's metal tones. I'm talking along the lines of Iron Maiden, Metallica, Dio, etc.

My combo speakers sucked.. I use a 4 x 12 cab with it and it sounded pretty decent.

The speaker isn't really that bad in another cab. I was quite shocked after swapping it out. It just seems to be their combo housing. Maybe poor wood?

I have a Coreblade and it has some great sounds. I'm not a modern metal guy either. I know most of the demos on the internet seem to be with 7/8 strings and such. The clean channel has some trouble balancing volume wise with the other channels, but if you kick in the boost on the clean and roll your volume on your guitar back just a bit it works great. I don't think I'd pay $2400 for a new one, but I picked up mine used for less than half that.
