So I'm paying the $5.99 a month for a subscription. My wife watches it. I try to watch it but can't get past the dead spots that come up every couple of minutes. We will be watching and then the screen will go black. It will stay black for several minutes and then the show comes back on. This happens MULTIPLE times in an hour show. Sometimes it comes up and says something about failure and we have to get out of it and come back in to get it to work.
My wife has a friend who says theirs does it but only when someone is using the wifi. That's not the case here, and I pay extra for screaming wifi so I know the network isn't the problem.
How are your experiences?
Side note/ I just subscribed to Prime video and its great.

I had issues with various apps on on my smart TV. Some would do that/buffer. MLB.TV would never work. I then got a high-speed Roku and by-pass the smart TV functions on my TV and things work as they should - no more buffering, etc.. We just go the Hulu subscription too and haven't had any issues with it.

Hulu isn’t anything special. Why pay the extra $5.99? Isn’t it free for Spotify customers? Unless you don’t have spotify? For the last month, Sling hasn’t worked at all on my Roku Premier +. Works on Firestick and online. I’ve chatted with both companies, done multiple uninstalls and reinstalls. Still error. Sling seems to think it’s Roku and vice versa. So I last night used webOS on my LG Oled instead of the roku, and all apps are working. Some might ask “why are you using Roku 4K box if you have a smart tv?” Short answer is I had it before the tv, and also I don’t like taxing tv processor for streaming.

Weird I have it, using a Fire stick. Runs like a top. Never any problems.

i love hulu. we share our netflix password with my bro in law and he gives us his hulu.

disney plus is also great if you have kids plus all the simpsons episodes.

i watch a lot on discovery app too. gold rush, homestead rescue, moonshiners

prime kinda blows but you can find some good stuff on there.

That sounds like the cheaper version of Hulu with ads. I bet when it is going to ads, the server for the ads are not working, which is why it would be black for a minute or two, and then comes back. Any of those services with ads always screw up with the ads. Websites with free episodes always act like that also. Switching back and forth to the ads always screws up.

We have the more expensive Hulu without ads, and it works great with no issues. We use it all the time, and way more then Netflix, Disney+, or Prime. We have them all, lol.

This is my wifes theory but if this is true there are more adds than any other channel I've seen

If you're watching on a computer and using an ad blocker that may explain it.

Back when we had the cheaper version, I want to say a 30 minute show normally had 4 commercial breaks. So, by that theory, there would be around 8 breaks in an hour show. The commercials in an hour should would total around 15 minutes.

(Contacts authorities. Waits until sleewell2 is taken out in handcuffs and coast is clear, then takes guitars for a "little trip to their new home"....)

Just kidding. :) Seriously though, I'll tell you guys what my cheap ass does. I only pay for Netflix and Hulu with a gift card that I normally pick up at the grocery store, etc. I only have one at a time and switch sometimes. I watch shows, etc. but most of the time I'm writing songs or trying to not just sit. I like both but they have their limitations unfortunately.

I'm watching on a smart tv. I also stream netflix and prime and both work flawlessly.

Neither of those have a version with ads, as far as I know. I think it is the ads that is causing you issues.
