Very cool Steve. Congrats!

I'm a big fan of the Edwards LPs as well. It just takes a couple of upgrades to make them great guitars.

not trying to ruin this, I think it is awesome, but i have heard a lot of people around here rip on george latley, and now all of the sudden, everyone is a fan again, I as many of you have always been a fan  just pointing it out

I'm guessing people are temporarily setting aside their true opinions of modern day George so as not to spoil the moment and potentially appear as a Debby Downer.

So, a while ago, Brett Chassen (recorded the last Lynch Mob album) and Bob Kulick (Grammy winning producer for Motorhead) who own a studio in the valley heard the shootout clips that James Lugo did and loved my Henning PlexRod 100 amp. They asked me if I could bring it up for them to check out and they dug it so much I left it with them to do some recording. They've been using the amp to record the guitar tracks for a Dee Snider solo project for the last month or so. I heard two of the tracks today and they have gotten some KILLER stuff out of the amp - can't wait to hear the finished album...

Anyway... I was coming up to do some things with the amp and to let Brett check out a few of my guitars (my Robin's Egg Blue Charvel, Suhr Guthrie and Edwards Sykes) because he's in the market and wanted to hear them. I get there and Brett mentions that George Lynch is coming up to do some tracking and he's looking forward to plugging him into my amp. So George and his tech showed up and Brett is like "Dude, you've gotta check out this Henning amp and this guy over here is the designer." George had his '68 Marshall that he was running with a 10 band EQ in front, a Naked amp and a little Fender. So, George's tech got his stuff setup and then we started A/Bing his '68 and my Henning amp. George didn't have any time to get to know the controls, so he asked me to take him through the amp and dial it in for him. We went through the 4 modes of the amp and he was definitely digging it! He was saying it sounded huge and even though it had a lot of gain, all the right harmonics were coming through. Was diggin' the rod mode with the Zen Master engaged for a cool rhythm sound... We hung out for awhile talking about the amp and gear in general (Axe-FX, Strymon, etc..) after he finished checking out the amp... Real nice guy...

Anyway, I was getting ready to leave and George was like, "Hey we're gonna track this amp right?" and Brett was into it, so they are gonna track some of the stuff he's working on today with the Henning amp! Looking forward to hearing what they do with it...

Was so cool to see one of my favorite guitar players diggin' my amp... I could have stayed for the whole session, but I didn't want to get in the way while they were doing business so I headed out.

George also played my guitars and was digging them. When he played the Charvel, he was like "Ahhh just like comin' home, huh?". Brett was telling him how great my Edwards LP sounded when we screwing around with it before he showed up and he just texted ESP to send him one... HA!

Anyway... Was pretty cool. Here are some unbelievably crappy cell phone pics of George crankin' my amp...

On another note, I'm working on the first production run of my amps with some other folks. I don't want to get into too much detail yet, but there will be an initial run of 20 with a slightly improved design... I'll update everyone as this continues to progress...

Awesome! Lynch is still one of my 80s faves.
I think it's incredibly cool to have an amp you built yourself played by one of your old heros. Congrats!
What do you think you'll be pricing the amps at?

I'm working on the final production costs so I don't have an exact number yet, but figure in line with what you'd pay for other multi-channel, boutique label Made in the USA, type amplification devices...
