Well, I bit the bullet and bought a ceramic BKP warpig. Up until yesterday, I had never played a guitar with them. I bought this for my Jackson RR-1T, as I can not STAND the JB in there anymore! My jackson is my favorite playing guitar, yet it never gets played due to how much I hated that bridge pickup. Enter, the Ceramic Warpig!
After putting it in, and adjusting the height (VERY sensitive to this) My jaw about dropped. This guitar instantly became the best sounding guitar I have ever played. Playing through my buddys mark IV, it was the best tone I had ever heard coming out of his amp in the last 10 years. It is insanely aggressive, tight, with massive bass, and just mean snarling mids. WARPIG really IS the best name for this pickup! My RR-1T instantly became my new "number 1". I am floored by this pickup in this guitar, it did exactly what I wanted it to do, and that was add BEEF and aggressiveness to it. It sounds bigger and thicker than my les Paul
So after jammning for awile, I got the bright idea to rip it out, and hear it in my Les Paul Studio! I know killertone on here uses them ( the alnico however) in his LP customs, so I thought, well hey, this will probably sound fantastic. I thought it may be too dark, but this was definitely not the case. Needless to say, this pickup is STAYING in my les paul, and I plan to get another one for my RR-1T ASAP! In the Les Paul, it is more of the same, but alittle darker. However, I do have 300K pots in my LP that I am going to rip out in favor of 500K pots to possibly brighten it up some. But it is the thickest meatiest les paul around now.
I have not heard them with my VHT's yet, but I'm sure I will be grinning from ear to ear. BKP is NOT hype, and I wish I had tried them out sooner. Absolutey the BEST 120 dollars I have ever spent to improve my tone. I could not be happier, and plan to be a "BKP only" user from now on for sure!
