This is another amp suggestion thread and I need your help. I want something a new and fresh for my ears.

I currently own:
Peavey 6505+, 3120, Triple XXX II, Rockmaster preamp
Randall V2 Archetype
Engl Savage, Special Edition preamp
Evh 100S
Mesa Triaxis, Mesa 2:90
Egnater M4 with various modules.

Amps I used to own:
Mesa Mark V
Randall V2 Ninja, Rh100
VHT Gp3
Peavey 6505
Marshall jmp-1
Various Egnater/ randall MTS preamps of all different types; Not really into expanding in the Egnater/Randall stuff right now.

The only thing on my want list right now is a Randall Satan or a Diezel Herbert. I wish I had a place to try these out, I have listened to a lot of clips though. How would they comepare to what I already have?

I would like to hear some other suggestions also. Whats out there that I should look into? What am I missing in my arsenal?
By the way, I'm all about the heavy and fast so I will mostly be playing that. Ocassionaly pUnK.

Here is what is missing imo:
Marshall 2203x
Bogner Twin Jet
Mesa Rectifier

Yup...Marshall, modded or stock...maybe an SLO? Although Diezel is missing...you have a ton covered already...there's a Fortin Marshall in the classifieds now....

Kemper...then get the profile for whatever amp you like ;)

You need to get an old JMP/JCM800 2203 or 2204, everyone should have at least one.

For the fast and heavy, get an ultralead. Makes you a better rhythm player.

But you can't go wrong with a Herbert.

+1. I vote for 2203/04 and/or a Recto. Could get both for the price of a Herbert.

Good point, I have been thinking I need a marshall and recto in my inventory. Diezel and Randall are on my want list, but a mesa and marshall are on the need list.

skip the recto...but you need a good marshall for sure

I was thinking that. Just not sure where to go for my marshall fix. I thought about building my own also but I don't have a lot of experience with them. The only thing I have experience from the marshall side is a Jmp-1, but a lot of people say its not to much of a "real" marshall.

which mts modules did you enjoy? That would actually help narrow the search
Rectos are awesome, but I'm not sure if they are light years different than your current Peavey lineup.
Now a Fortin/Randall or Diezel would be quite different and a fun addition

BTWI; I'm the guy with the Fortin Marshall in the classifieds. Awesome tones, but definitely limited for live applications compared to some of the other amps on the list (maybe the one channel feature is part of the great tone?). Really fast attack but a con is it is a bit unforgiving/dry. The DMoll is closer to a Peavey in turns of a forgiving smoosh to the tone, but presents a much a higher quality than PVs (less fizz, hi gain with no noise ratio). Peavey are awesome, but Diezel is definitely a cut above.

Both are such classic amps, it's worth owning both at least for a little while if you can swing it. I think the 2204 (50 watt master volume Marshall) is a real gem. It has plenty of volume and low end, but actually sounds great at lower volumes too, something the bigger 2203 struggles with IMHO.

As far as a Recto, I like the two-channel Triples. Monster amps that are extremely versatile but of course do the angry raging Recto thing perfectly. The Roadster IMHO is too dark and the 3-channels are just not very good sounding (something just wasn't right, couldn't dial it in). The new Multi-Watt 3-channels are better, but I still prefer the 2-channel. The common "Rev G" is the classic Recto tone.

If you don't like either, well at least you'll know and as long as you're careful not to over spend, you shouldn't lose much if any money selling them.

EDIT: I haven't played your other Peaveys, but I'd say a Recto is very different from the 5150 II/6505+. Simple description is that the 6505+ sounds like a buzz saw (in a good way) while the Recto sounds like a wrecking ball/sledge hammer.

For the MTS I currently have a salvo mamba, jaded faith Venom, a egnater ultra XL, and a dragon. The Mamba and venom are framus cobra based mods. My rack Mts modules are purposely related to my heads for a reason. I wanted to have similar sounds for the studio as I do for my personal collection.
I have owned a bunch of different modules, I really miss the salvo terrier, it is a fryette based module. It had such quick picking response. It reminded me of the vht gp3 I used to have.
The peavey 3120 and triple xxx II are modded. I modded them myself for my studio needs. They are ultra versatile. They do get into the marshall and recto realm after modding them but yet have there own flavor.

Looks like you have the bases fairly covered, I would say a Diezel and a Twin Reverb would round it out.

Agreed. Triple Rec.
Also, both the Triple and the 6505+ have great rock tones.
