While all of you were getting your nails done and yer hair did, (  ), I ended up buying the Charvel DeMartini "Frenchie" from Padrebonic (thanks man!). I gotta admit, I missed having a Charvel guitar around the house as I have two Les Pauls and a custom guitar (looks like an SG) but no shredders.

Guitar plays like butter and sounds so awesome when doing scales, etc. Forgot how hot the pickup is in the bridge so had to adjust the gain on some of my presets. Quarterpound pickup in the neck sounds great too and is a nice bluesy type sound versus straight clean.

Anyway, gotta play around with it a bit more but liking what I'm hearing and how it feels. Now some divebombs!!

Congrats! Cool guitar. I was SO close to buying his Soldano HR25.

I’m glad it went to a good home! I changed directions back to my roots with traditional Strats but I’m sure going to miss it.

Congrats, I just pulled the trigger on my first Charvel tonight also

Nice score.

What's the bridge pup sound like? Like a lower gain JB... or more like a SD Custom Custom?

This is your fault dude. Got the bug years ago when I got your "Blood and Skulls". LOL! I miss that guitar too.

What's up man? It has been so long since I've had a regular JB (my last one was the same as this in a DeMartini guitar) but I think I remember enough about it. If I remember correctly, it is not so much lower gain but less harsh. It definitely is a hot pickup but just sounds so dang good. :) I kind of feel about this one like I used to feel about my Suhr Aldrich pickup. It is hot but it doesn't have a harsh, irritating, over the top tone like some hot pickups have.

I gotta pull up the specs on this again because I'm curious myself.

Congrats! I've been tempted to pick up a Frenchie for a while. I'm trying to fight the GAS, as usual. The pickup, if I remember correctly, is a Seymour Duncan RTM. I have an RTM in one of my guitars and I agree it is an awesome pickup. It is hot, but clear and surprisingly tight feeling for an A2 magnet. It still has good high mids and highs, but is never harsh. Great pickup! I wish you much happiness with your new Frenchie!

Thanks man! Yep, it is the RTM. Good description of the "tight" feel without being harsh. I like the Frenchie having the neck pickup in it. Adds a great option!

I bet it does. I'd love to here one with the selector in the middle position. I need to just break down and buy one of the damn things! LOL. Is this Frenchie white or black or what? We need pics!

Thanks for the feedback. I luvs me some Suhr Aldrich. Seriously looking at the Frenchie as it has the truss rod wheel at the end... no more neck removal to tweak the truss rod.

Congrats!

Charvel necks, there is no substitute. My 09 SoCal will never leave my side.

Fucking awesome. The 80s had such great graphic guitars.
Had the White one years back.

I love the Quarter Pound pickup in the neck. It’s He perfect pickup for that chimey bluesy neck tone that Warren shines with...
