I've read a lot about the MIUSA vs. MIG cabs, front loaded vs. rear loaded, Diezel Emi's, V30's, etc. but I'm confused still....

I bought 2 rear loaded 4x12's with salt and pepper grill cloth, silver piping, and both are loaded with Vintage 30's.

the jack plate has the one red nut on the 8 ohm jack.

When I took the jack plate off to see what speakers are in these, I noticed that these have batting on the back panel, similar to Bogner.

So, what cab do I have, what era, etc.?

They sound great, but the heritage of this co's cabs is confusing.

Me thinks you might have MIA cabs. Were these new or used when you bought them?

Used, but look new. It was a trade in for a full stack and Herbert at my local GC. The prices seemed right, so I jumped. the Herbie sold for 2300 the day before. I paid 1200 out the door for both cabs.

I'm assuming they are MIA, but wanted confirmation.

They don't sound nearly as bad as everyone seems think the US made ones are. Waaay better than a 1960, and a bit better than a Mesa I played side by side...And surely better than my old Madison cabs (which also have Vintage 30's).

But the batting on the back panel is something I've not heard of in regards to these cabs. Someone in another thread I found in my search on here suggested that these MIA were made by the same maker as Bogners, which with the batting had me wondering.

oh, and:

You are correct in that they were made by the same person(s) as makes Bogner and other cabs. The grill cloth looks to be the older version as well. I still have an older Diezel cab with 2 G12-H's. While the newest German versions are the more desirable, your stack does look impressive, and as you already mentioned, sounds better then other cabs you have compared them too. They also look to be in really good condition.

I hope you enjoy them!

Thanks for the info. At first glance, I thought they were the MIG models and got REALLY excited. At any rate, they sound killer, and the work is top notch. It doesn't hurt they are in such good condition, either. My only fear is that after another 5 years, they'll look as horrid as my current cabs.

load in/outs and trailers have not been kind to my Madisons...
