I Crashed Pretty Hard

*UPDATE*
I'm being released finally. My breathing is better today, and there isn't much more they can do for me here. Pain is going to be a way of life for a bit, but at least I'll be out of the hospital.

Glad to hear you are doing better

Time for some doom stoner riffs.

Fatty beef, Taurine, Glycine, Hyaluronic Acid, AAKG, L-Cystine, Betaine (TMG), and plenty of rejuvinating guitar playing will accellerate healing. Godspeed bro, you ate it bad!

Take these two and watch Pottenger's Human in the morning!

I took a bad digger back in the early 2000's before I had a cell phone

nothing like your's @BeZo ...... but I broke my wrist and ripped a half dollar size hole in my knee .... there was all kind of shit hanging out of it ...

with no cell phone and it being 5:30 in the morning .... I was the only one out on the trail ..... so I had to ride the bike 6 miles back to my truck ..

the hole in my knee never really stopped bleeding .... by the time I got back to my truck ... my sneaker looked like I stepped in a 5 gallon bucket of blood

Wow! That is a heck of a crash. Glad you are on the mend.

I've landed on my back twice (once a forward flip 1 1/4ths around and the other, rolled back a lil too faaaar) since I started riding 29er's ~2009. Neither of those ended in busted bones but I have a scar on my back that always gets questions from massage therapists hehe

I'm hanging in there. Rehab is slow going. My ribs are still sore but I'm managing. I'm still working on getting my shoulder back to normal. I've been up and about a lot more this week.
glad to hear it ! moving around is a good start !

Man best wishes on your recovery. I'm 60 now and still mtn bike couple of times a week. This area has some knarly trails and there's definitely risks there, but it's one of my favorite things to do and keeps me in great shape. It's tough getting older.

How are you doing? Is the healing going well?

Oh man Bezo. I missed this back in Sept but hope you’re doing well man.

I rode a new mountain bike trail today. I crashed on a 10 foot drop. I knocked the wind out of me, but I managed to hike the bike out of the woods. I drove to an urgent care, but vitals dropped and they sent me to the ER in the wee-woo wagon. I cracked four ribs, 3-6, with 3 broke in two places. The residual contusions and vitals require a 24 hr stay. Breathing is tough and shallow, but I'm okay. My shoulder and hip are just contusions. I won't be playing guitar tonight.
How old are you?

I'm in my 40s. I don't heal like I used to. My ribs healed pretty quick. I actually played a show 5 weeks after the accident (singing and playing). My shoulder felt like it was going to fall off though and w we definitely didn't use full stacks for that gig. I didn't even bring cabs, and just used the house cabs.

The shoulder sprain is lingering. I'm like 90% healed up and still doing PT at home. I'm reaggravating it less and less lately. I'm hoping to get back to 100% by the end of the year to train through the winter for next season.

@Fusionbear I'll let you know in the MTB thread in the OTC when I go back and actually land that fucking drop next year.

Hoping for a speedy recovery. Good on ya for sending it on the bike! People don't stop doing rad shit because they get old. They get old because they stop doing rad shit! Get well and charge it again!
