I went over to a friends house that has a 2290 and I played and listened to it today. It's by far the best delay I've heard!! He has a wet dry wet set-up and with the modulated delays I was blown away!! I wish I would'nt have bought the TC LE G-System I liked it so much! I cant afford to buy everything that the G-System does in separate pieces though. Its a very nice sounding delay!!

I want one of those so bad I would watch Donbarzini's youtube channel non-stop for a week to get one.

Not sure any delay is that good.

I love the TC 2290. Been having arguments with people who keep saying the Axe Fx delays are as good. Not that those aren't good, but there is only 1 2290 and it is the best delay ever IMO.

here was a 2290 in action when I was at Tone merchants a couple years ago, I was "blown" away:

Almost fell for it until I saw "blown" in your post.
Even using TM in the seduction. Clever. ;)

Here is mine in action:

It IS the factory standard by which most other delays are compared to

I've never had the chance to try one out in person, is it a big noticeable difference in the delay compared to say the G-system or something else? Scared to find out :scared:

The 2290 is the delay all others are compared to, no doubt about that. But the g system does have a 2290 delay, and modulated delays. If you set that up in stereo I think you'll be pretty happy

once u play a 2290, its hard to go back to anything else. Its just a 16 bit processor. I sent mine to Cliff at Fractal a couple of years ago and he got the axe fx in the ball park. The axe fx has gotten soooo much better over the past couple of years, he could probably get even closer. Theres just something about a 2290 though. Even if its not being used, just the fact that its in your signal chain makes a rig sound better. I just got a real nice one again that im putting in a rig with a PCM 70 and TC1210. My rig will be alot like Zachman's

I couldn't agree more. The 2290 just makes the rig sound better by being there.

I would suggest you consider a PCM81 instead of the PCM70. There are 3 main reasons.

* You have a way to back up your patches on a memory card.
* You can do delay and reverbs simultaneously
* You can program circular delays and panning delays, that are attributed to the PCM70 V2.

You are going to be VERY spoiled re: tone, when your rig gets done. I know I am.  Despite what the guys who say tone is in the hands say. My hand tone has never sounded as good-- as when I play through this rig.
