....and it was about 3-1/2 hours from the REAL La Grange, Tx. :D

Telecaster Deluxe Ash into COD B channel, gain about noon, all EQ and boost switches set flat. Hit it with a mild dose of OCD for the lead.

I think I'm coming around to that COD.....

Yeah, it takes bit of getting used to. I sold my first one, but then picked up another and I'm glad I did!!

Did you try the 5751?? Just curious.

Hell, I haven't even had it a week! :D

I want to live with it as is for a while. I find that the gain is not so much an issue with my low-output guitars - the Telecaster and the Strat - but it comes on fast and hard with HB or P-90-equipped guitars.

In fact, so far I'd say the COD (as delivered, stock) really loves low-output single coils.

I'd venture to say that's a pretty darn fair and true statement!!!  :D

It is a way cool module. I love to get the strat and do the trower/gilmour thing. So very cool.

seems like everybody automatically jumped on the 5751 bandwagon without giving normal. higher gain 12ax7's a chance.

I prefer the higher gain option, personally.

Well, it's pretty friggin hot for a humbucker-equipped guitar, but seems to be just about right for low-output singles. Especially for those using hot active pickups I could see that the COD would be a bit rambunctious.

Oh I definitetly tried it both ways. Was too compressed for me with buckers in my LP. Great with my singles though. Put the 5751 in and it now rocks hard with my LP and still sounds fantastic with my strat.

But some may like it that way. :D

ahh,

there we go.

I LOVE the compression with the higher gain.

reminds me of Shawn Lane's Powers of Ten with the right buckers and guitar.
