For starters... I can't make clips, so we can get that out of the way. :(

Anyway, I got the amp on Friday. If you didn't check out the thread I posted the other day, I picked this amp up from Chris Poland. He got it from Dean DeLeo. James Demeter made two amps like this for Dean. I haven't owned a regular TGA 2 Inverter, but this one is a bit different. It has separate Channel EQ's for the Clean and Dirty channels. It has some other stuff on the back that lets you swap between the Demeter tone and a tone that sounds more like a Marshall.

Cleans - This amp has awesome cleans! It has the Fender clean down very well. The cleans have a nice amount of sustain to them with plenty of "air" and character. It has that jangly overtone happening that you get from a Twin. VERY NICE!

Edge Channel (Crunch) - This channel takes you from where the clean leaves off to a considerable amount of high gain. It covers the Plexi and JCM 800 area. It's not a darker kind of vibe or anything remotely close that nature. It has plenty of bite and teeth with the right amount of thickness where it's needed. It's a fine tone and has plenty of flexibility. It can got from a Bluesy vibe to a fairly decent amount of gain. The high end of the gain spectrum is up there with say "Plush" by STP.

The Solo Channel - This channel kind of overlaps the Edge channel, but picks up and leaves it in the dust. The gain is useable up to about 8 if you're playing rhythm on it. I haven't turned it up past that. The difference between this channel is that the Low end and Mids thicken up considerably. It's very round and huge sounding. It sounds pretty much spot on with the Stone Temple Pilots real high gain stuff. It just has a lot of girth in the mids and it pushes some air with aggression and authority.

Lastly, I can switch between all 3 channels on the amp. I've had no problems at all balancing out the volumes of each channel. It's even across the board. If I had to describe the character of the amp, it's a lot like the Cameron HG Jose I had in some ways. It reminds me of the Bogner XTC in other ways. It's just a lot more aggressive than the Bogner.

Hope you enjoyed reading this.

Damn, sounds sweet! I'm playing guitar and singing in an STP cover band right now, and I've been working like crazy to find that tone in my rig. Congrats dude!

Sounds cool, congrats Dale

Yeah, it's a very good amplifier. I'm now wondering what the current line of Demeter amps and previous two lines sound like compared to the one I have. James Demeter tweaked this TGA2 and another for Dean (Chris still has the other one). I haven't pulled the chassis or anything. I haven't even taken the back panel off of the amp. Chris recently retubed it and the tubes appeared to be seated well when I shined them with my LED flashlight.

The main thing I'm happy about is that I don't have to buy a footswitch for it because I already has a 2 button TRS footswitch that works perfectly with this badboy.

It's nothing short of awesome to say the least.

I've only run two Gibson Les Pauls through it so far. The amp likes both of them, but the 498T bridge pickup in my Classic (previous owner swapped out the pickups) overdrives the clean channel a little bit. My LP Standard has Bare Knuckle pickups in it.

The main thing with the 3rd channel is the girth that exists in the lows and the mids. The highs ring out nicely. The only other amp I've owned that is right there in the same ballpark with this amp is a Cameron HG Jose, which was extremely nice. I regret selling that thing. I'm not saying that this or that Cameron are the best amps in the world. They just do their thing and do it extremely well.

I forgot to go into more detail about the Demeter/Marshall switch. The Marshall switch basically takes some of the thickness out of the low end, low-mids and mids. The character of the highs is still pretty much the same. It's a cool tone as well.

I alway liked STP. Fender,Marshall, Demeter how can you go wrong.
