I have given up on owning any other guitars than strats!

I guess I am just a strat man through and through.

Over the last 2 years I have owned.

Jackson soloist, DK1

Ibanez RG, RG prestige, JEM

Charvel so cal

Caparison Horus, Dellinger

GIbson SG x 2

Gibson explorer

Gibson les paul standard

Edwards, x4 various types of standards and customs

ESP floyd strat thing

Framus thing

G&L telecaster

And I am sure there are a few others, especailly ones I nearly bought and none of them do it for me like my musikraft strat and any MIJ or MIA strat I play lol.

I wanted something a bit differant, but there is no point lol, I like bog standard strats with humbuckers in the bridges without floyd roses.

Guess I will have to spend my new guitar money on a new 2009 upgraded strat.

Sometimes you can't fight what you are, I am a strat guy by nature too, but I love me a good Les Paul.

How was that G&L ASAT (Telecastor)? I have Tele GAS....

I can agree, except for me its all about Charvel stratheads. I have been trying to get into LP's but i just dont find them comfortable enough for me. Its annoying because i love the tone of a LP!!

The only other guitar I think will work great for me is an Anderson DropTop, as it has that nice super comfortable feel + its extremely versatile sounding!

The G&L was awesome, but the neck radius?? was too flat for me. Sounded great though the stock pickups were very versatile and toneful and my old guitar teacher who mainly played country loved it.

I pretty much agree. My prized HSS hardtail was stolen last year and I'm having a hard time finding an affordable replacement (I only like hardtails). Whenever I find another one that I like, my Les Paul will be gone. I still have my Robert Cray sig strat and I love it to death..............but I need an HSS to compliment. I bought a brand new ESP Horizon NTII last year and it felt like a toy in my hands compared to a good strat. Not to mention countless other guitars.

I know what you mean, I love LP's to look at and to listen to. But to play, no thanks.

I would love to try out an Anderson or Suhr.

Have you tried the Billy Corgan strat? The one I played was really nice for the coin.

No. I really want a full size humbucker HSS config. with a hardtail. Fender doesn't make one anymore so I've been checking Ebay.

I'm just the opposite. I like the tone of a good Strat, and don't mind playing them even though I hate single coils in the bridge, but for tone, feel, and playing, I always go back to a Les Paul.

Congrats man. It feels good when you can limit your options. It's like a big weight off your shoulders.

Rickenbackers for me! (though I'm keeping my one Epiphone Casino too, as the only non-Ric in the litter!) :D

(the Steinberger in my sig is a bass, which will be joined by a Ric 4003 whenever my order is filled. (placed in Sept, 2006!)

But other than that, its all Rickenbackers here!

Here's a pic of my top-of-my-line, personal favorite (so far!):

I enjoy the contrast of owning a lot of different guitars... if my playing is in a rut, going from a strat to a LP or a PRS just changes things up a bit.

Oh boy where is Scott?

Naw man, I understand and agree where he is coming from  I always wanted a USA Soloist and bought a beautiful one and just did not bound with it, did not like tyhe smooth tones of the neckthrough and the neck was not for me. Love the big tone of a LP type guitar and own one but I don't dig the way they play. Found a Hamer Diablo that just fits me like a glove as well as my GMWs and Ibanez stuff.

He has found what fits him, can't bust chops for that :)

Me too, or the Gibson style anyway. I seem to like V's and Explorer's a lot. I think it's the scale length, the tilt back neck design, and the main thing is i LOVE not having an upper horn getting in the way. You can beat tapping on an Explorer. I'll probably pickup another cheap strat for single coil tones.

It's taken me a long time too...I've gone through a number of USA and import Jacksons, import Charvel Model Series, Caparisons, Ibanezs, G&L's, all to come back to my Les Paul Custom. Then I tried a PRS, fell in love, and those two battle it out for me. The PRS Singlecut I have is easier for me to play than the LPC, but there is just something to the LPC's tone that can't be copped by the PRS.

Now in the last week I bought a Charvel So-Cal - and it is definitely more of a speed demon than the other two, but its the most comfortable super strat I've ever played. So I might have finally found a winner in that regard.

It's a sigh of relief though when you do finally figure it out. As much as I love playing new gear, it gets really disheartening to buy something only to find out after a period of time its really not for you.

I don't think I've found the "ultimate" guitar for me. I love the wammy bar on my JS1000, the playability/feel of my MM Y2D and the killer tone of my LPS. Now, somebody roll all that up in one guitar and... ding! ding! ding! ... winner!

You could just pick up another RC Strat and toss in a HSS pickguard and load it up with whatever you want, no?

Same here. I love the LP tone but they are so friggin' heavy and you have to be somewhat crippled to play them. Oh yeah, Slash plays them too

and Cinderella cover bands.............................
