I just got my mind blown by a Line6 amp...

OK I just got back from the store and played on the 1x12 combo amp, I am assuming it was the DT25 or something. I was pretty impressed! It did not sound digital to me at all, not fake, but really good actually. I spent most time on the high gain models, and it killed. very impressive actually. I am not a fan of 1x12 combos either. I assume the head into a good cab would sound even better. I didn't spend to much time on the clean to mid breakup sounds, but they sounded fine to me, No, they sounded good.

I have tried the previous bogner line 6 incarnations and thought they sounded harsh as hell in the top end, just did not like them at all. This amp today sounded very good in the top end, it sounded like a tube amp, cause well, it is a tube amp. I think all the modeling is actual circuit driven rather then a digital recreation no? anyway just wanted to say I also dug it....

I emember hearing one of those at Lugo's amp shootout, and it sounded great.

I believe this was before they were actually released.

I'd forgotten about those...have to go check one out :D

You could count on one hand the number of regular posters here who actually have anything valuable to say about tone.

You like it and have experienced an instant flow with it. Who cares what name is on the plate or what color the capacitors are?

  Sir, that is YOUR opinion. Oh, and it gets a big +1 from me.

Look at all those who went out and bought the Egnater Tweakers,Tourmaster and Rebels. It has Egnaters name on them and sound great but made in china. Whats really wrong with Bogner/Line6 DT series amps? If it had Bogner on the front instead of line 6 would it be accepted more. That company puts out great stuff, look at the wireless, probably the most used wireless system out there. I had an M13 and liked the sounds out of it, just not flexible enough for me. If it helps you play more or sparks some creativity then don't worry about others. I see pros with the Line 6 Mod, filter and delay racks in their setups, $49 bad monkey boost and other cheap effects on pedal boards but it is getting them a tone they like that a high dollar can't. There is no set formula for getting your tone. Buy what works for you. I have a high end amp and Axe II but also like line 6 stuff. Rock on!

My mate has just retired his old Marshall from gigging and is using a DT25 and a HD500 ...... his tone is awesome and cuts through the band mix no problem ;)

I wasn't impressed by the DT series at Lugo's amp shootout but I played a Spider Valve II head into a Marshall 1960B cab at a GC and got some decent tones out of it. Again, don't know if it would work in a band mix... completely subjective. If you like it, and it works for your needs, go for it. Right tool for the job...
