I Know, Another GC thing 😣

Just perusing used amps from highest price to lowest and it’s quite incredible how they priced some items at particular stores. Laundering, inflated buy, covering for a drug habit? Couple of 5150’s at over 2K while another store has one for 1400 (still too much). Even had one or two amps priced higher than they are new. Then came across this and I almost spit my coffee.

Why can’t I ever walk into one of these stores and get paid 100% more than I should!

I will say that Randall is in virtually new condition but still.

GC is hit or miss. They have some deals if you can dig. I got a real ‘69 Marshall Plexi 100w for $2,000 back in 2011 from GC in Austin. I pulled the trigger as soon as I saw it.

I got a USA made Charvel Pro Mod for $700 earlier this year or late last year. And a Bogner red pedal (big one) for $100.

So the deals are there, you just have to be a ready amongst all the muck.

Their used stuff is very spotty, but the insanely good return policy that can be executed at any GC anywhere in the country and some international locations for 45 days and completely unsavvy pricing (both directions) pushes them over the line into awesome. Never have so many employees cared so little about whether their corporate overlords make money.

I wouldn't do this, but I know people who have bought a tour worth of used gear, played their gigs, and returned it at the end. in theory the employees can bust you, but in practice they don't.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve bought a bunch from the used site and yes, the return policy is great when taking a total chance on something. I was just more shaking my head at who is taking in some of this gear and pricing it when they have the same stuff on their own website for much cheaper and can reference Reverb as well. Most used buy’s go past the manager I imagine. It’s just fucking weird and like I said, I’m jealous I never encountered those salesman when I needed to sell something.

I bought this for $1 from GC. Kinda scared to plug it in though.
