The cute cat in one of my posts here needs to go. The one that lost her twin sister. She is bat shit crazy. Has this terrible cry thing like she is dying. It is grating. I can't take it. My wife says the Vet says she has 'kitty dementia'. Like she doesn't know where she is. Sometimes can't find food. We give her meds, similar to Zanex I think, but it doesn't help. We looked into having her larynx (voice cords I guess) removed, but then learned that is animal cruelty.

Sorry. But my sanity is more important. If we give her away, I can guarantee she will get worse and cry even more :(

What do?

Sounds like the cat should be put down, seems like it is living in misery. Where I live, you cannot surrender animals to the pound. They have to be taken in by the police/animal control/community service operator.

I'm an animal lover too and this would be even harder on my wife than me. The vets don't know what to do with her. Last month they though it was a thyroid problem but the meds for that do not appear to be working. We are getting another round of blood tests on Friday. We'll see :dunno:

There are no kill shelters in Alton that don't ask questions and have extremely high placement/adoption rates. I donate to one, they are great people and really care about helping animals. If you decide thats an option, reach out and I can give you more info.

Thanks bro. That is actually very helpful.

Man that sucks dude. I am an animal lover and a cat lover, but if vets can't figure it out it sounds like the most humane thing is to have them put her down.

How long have you had the cat? Not getting on your case man, but my cats are family. I could not just give one of them away no matter what. Sounds like the cat is in misery and lost her sister and has mental problems also. I would get a 2nd opinion and contemplate putting her to sleep.

Thanks.

She is somewhat like family yes. She is 14 years old I think. She def has mental issues. I mean, I hope she is not in pain but some of these cat cries are that blood curdling demonic drawn out down tuned whine, as if there is serious trouble. Vets don't think she is in pain but who really knows for sure. I work from home so it just gets grating on my eardrums and I feel sorry for her.

What happens if you pick her up or put a bed on a table next to where you work? I know what you mean. One of the 2 Siamese cats I have now was supposed to be a male. Turns out it wasn't a male and she went into heat and I thought I was going to go mad. I called our vet that came over and explained she was in heat. I was like "how is the cat in heat if it's a male?" LOL. Then the light bulb in my head turned on. I was pissed initially as my other cat in my avatar is male and I was worried they would not get along.

They are best buds now. And although I felt a bit of "fuck that cat I'm giving her away" for a bit, she turned out to be an absolute Princess. The only one she really likes in my house is me. She's the best. But I still have more of a fondness of my other Siamese in my Avatar, Shadow. He's an absolute nutball, like me. He's more of a lap cat than the female Niko. People ask me if they yell all the time. Both of them rarely meow. Since we got her fixed, she's been quiet other than her squeaky little meow. Good luck with your cat man.

Wow - that's crazy.

Like I said, this is harder on my wife than me. Rosie doesn't really like to be petted or handled in general. As if she feels trapped. She is not the type of cat that will jump up on your lap and hang out like most cats. This and the fact that our other cat (Russian Grey) is an outdoor cat, which means it is just not a very normal environment. If I put her on a chair next to me, she would maybe circle around 5 or 6 times and eventually just jump off.

Me posting this picture won't help because she is so damn cute (on the right of her long gone twin sister, Lilly).

Maybe she's pissed off at your choice of tubes? LOL

That's sad man, that one of them is gone. I've gone though 3 cat deaths in the past 10 years and each one was brutal. She sounds a bit like Niko, who when picked up will purr till you put her down, but she's not really a lap cat either. Will jump up, hang for 3 seconds, jump down. That's why I didn't want a female cat in the fist place. This is the 3rd female cat I've ever had that is actually semi approachable. All the male cats I've had were super chill. I'm wondering if getting them fixed whacks them out somehow.

Everything you just said makes a lot of sense, except the tubes part.

Rosie doesn't purr - at least not in any normal way. There is not a reciprocation if that makes sense. It's like just feeding this thing and cleaning out a litter box. That's other thing, she doesn't know how to 'clean up' after herself and after about 3 or trips to the box, she just poops on the floor. She is a very very confused cat.

I got those 'tube compliments' from Dougs Tubes. Tung Sol was supposed to be great in V1 or V2. I find them pretty shrill and bright. But the JAN Phillips 5751 is killer in the P.I. I still have it. I think it is now in my Rectoverb.
