I need a overdrive pedal with a lot of gain and saturation!

Rossness, did you give the Joyo a whirl? I have to admit, pretty damn close. The chinese do it again!

I actually just sold my Joyo Ultimate Drive pedal. Mine had too much grit, but the quality was definitely there. But no, I have a Riot and haven't tried the US Dream.

Amptweaker tight metal (great pedal for high gain applications) or Suhr Riot (great for "SLOesque" / Marshally) tones.

Kingsley minstrel, swell pedals g tod , effectrode drive. All tube killer pedals.

How much gain can you get out of the minstrel? I have been considering getting the Jouster, but I have been reading that the minstrel has the most gain between the minstrel, jouster, and jester.

More like high gain rock than high gain metal.

amptweaker tight metal, run it into the effect return, therefore using as a preamp, it slays for heavy tones and is tight on the bottom end if u needed it to be for drop tunnings. Have a few custom ordered built units with the sidetrack so it can act as an amp switcher or run a2 total different chain of drives/effects and other 2 different amps in a rig and few other tweaks. Pm me if your interested.

Suhr Riot? I'm not sure if its in your budget, but worth a try.

Good dirt pedal.

The us dream sounded pretty close, but the suhr riot just had more presence and sounded more alive, it was subtle, but there.

I don't have a ton of experience with all the pedals, but my BB+ has served me well. It's basically 2 pedals in 1; I really like the right side for slight OD edge on hi gain riffing and the left side for saturated lead playing. Pay no mind to the 100+ recommendations coming your way- this is the one.

Just kidding, good luck on your search

Yep, BB+ is the way to go for a nice and smooth, saturated overdrive with a lot of options. I use the right side as a nice smooth mild lead tone and left as a clean boost. Stack em and it's a high gain singing lead tone! If you want an amp-like distortion pedal, the Bogner Red is insane.

Also agree with OP on the OCD being too gritty. That's why I got rid of mine. It does respond like an amp, just not one I want to play. :D
