and I don't even need another guitar...I just want it.

More than I want an amp...
I prolly don't even "need" an amp...I need a poweramp for my Mak4...but I could just get a 100w head with serial loop and call it a day...

What's wrong with me?

Gear list...in order of my preference...
Guitars:
1992 Gibson Les Paul Classic
1980 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe (with Bill Lawrence pickups)
1992 Ibanez RG560
2001 Gibson Les Paul Jr Lyte (with P90's)
1988 Fender Stratocaster with ToneZone bridge
1998 Ibanez Artstar AS120

Amps...in order of aquisition...
Trainwreck Clone (Sounds like music...but wayyy too loud)
Twister F3 Custom (Better volume-wise...great tone...great loop...not Bro0otal enough)
MesaBoogie Rectoverb (Brings the Bro00tz...but the loop is shit)
Mako Mak4 preamp (on order)

What should I do? Wait until I know? I guess....

There's a pretty PRS locally for a good price...and I really want it...even though I've never played one I'd trade my hat for...but everyone else LOVES em...

AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(in b4 CSB)

I'm thinking an Uber or 5150&Deliverance60...(which would you rather have?)

I still need a Les Paul Custom...

I'll be boosting with Maxon OD808...and theres' no loop for my MAKO or a 10band...which is half the reason I need it...to power my Mako.

Uberschall? Or PRS?

what kind of PRS and have you played it?

Edit: scratch that, thought the list at the top was your GAS list

Right

I think you need to play that PRS first. Much as i love mine (and i really love mine) i'll be the first to admit I got lucky with it given i bought it from the states on ebay untried. I've tried a bunch of them in shops over the years and found virtually all of them, while brilliantly sconstructed, tended to be characterless. a few were duds too, looked pretty but sounded crap.

if you try it and it checks out acoustically (you know the score, try it unplugged before you plug in) and it's exceptional, buy it. then you can always replace the pickups, which i've always felt were their weakness. there's no guitars i've bought recently that i played more plugged in than unplugged.

You got most of your amp bases covered in terms of sounds, genres and times. guitar wise i don't think you have the tonal area that a PRS provides covered.

they really don't sound like gibsons, like a lot of people say, they got this niche in between fender and gibson covered tonally. superstrats don't do the same job either. My Mcarty is edging more to the lespaul side but still remains in their niche

i say go for the PRS if everything above checks out

Go acoustic man!

I've also got an acoustic I'm planning on being buried with...(so I can play St. Peter a song...it's my only shot)...it's an old "Nashville" D-500? Never seen another...it's solid spruce top with lam RW back and sides...and no headstock logo...just some inlaid "f" things...
...also a Fender DG-35 or something for knocking around
and a handmade flamenco guitar from Spain...

My Acoustic bases are covered...

I don't have a Tele or an AC30...

I'm with you on playing acoustic to see if the sound is there....but I won't be able to...and the price is pretty killer...which probably means it sucks.

I seriously had a guy offer to trade me my hat for a PRS back in the late '90's...I told him "I don't like POS's...I mean PRS's..."

But this one is my SECOND favorite color...and it's got birds and a flamey top...and it's practically brand new...again...probably means it sucks....

But it's a great price...

what colour?

i, i'm embaressed to say, bought mine partly because of the top and colour, its a 10'er in teal black

blue.

What do you think of the new JCA50H? It was supposed to be released already...

well, the JCA100H sounds awesome, for what it is. was sceptical about these, mainly because i'm a full fat soldano owner, and while nothing is going to sound like an SLO, i can't really argue with the demo's i've heard..

honestly, i think it kicks the shit out of amps twice as expensive and more

I'd go for a 50 H for the reduced headroom, is why i like 50 watt amps. i do gain

Is the PRS too far away or is the guy not allowing people to try first?
