I need an amp to compliment Engl Fireball for death/thrash

I've been drooling over the new Engl Fireball 100, and have decided on it for a rig I'm building this year. I've always been a stereo player, and like the sound of two amps with distinct, but complimentary tones. I'm looking for another high-end amplifier that would play nicely with the Engl Fireball 100, but there's so many good amps around these days that it's impossible to decide. Framus, Diezel, Bogner, Mesa Boogie, etc are all some popular names in metal lately each with an individual sound.

I plan to use these amps through a pair of Vader 4x12s.

I'm from a small town and don't have the privilege of finding high-end amplifiers to test locally. I have to rely on suggestions, reviews, audio clips, and understanding return policies to shop. However, I'm going to be in bay area California for awhile, and may have time to see if any shops here carry these names.

So, any suggestions to start with?

i like to mix my fireball with a herbert or a mark 5. you can evevn get this plate from marshall that converts the cab istereo and mix both heads in one cab....i find this to sound better than 2 different cabs,, especially if u have a favorite cab

I'm the only guitarist in my band, so I use two cabs on opposite ends of the stage to get a full sound.

I've already thought about the Herbert, but it seems like it would clash with the Fireball.

5150s are great, but I want something with a tad more balls and more striking tone. I'm currently using a 6505+, and while it's the best for the price, it too bland for an ideal rig. Although, something bland may be what's needed to get a solid, room-filling sound but still letting the Engl Fireball shine.

the splawn nitro would blend well, having owned a fireball i can attest to its heavyness, a framus would also add the low end freq that the fire doesnt have they would blend good , very heavy... or the nitro for great bite jmo

Herbert is a GREAT amplifier, but NOT with the Vader Cabs

Could you explain a bit more?

I'm thinking about either Framus Cobra or Bogner Uber, but I can't find much about the different versions (Rev 2, Blue, etc). I'm going to be purchasing the low-end amp before I get the Fireball 100. What amp is the absolute beefiest and tight low-end, for around 3000? Diezels are too expensive for me.

IMO it is best to mix amps that have a contrasting voicing.

such as one that has a high mid focus and one that has a low mid focus.

I also take it one step further and say the best way is to also use two different feels/characters.

I prefer the high mid amp to be the compressed/tight amp and the lower focused amp to be less compressed and more "open" sounding and feeling.

Are you nuts? 5150's have more balls than alot of amps twice it's price?

Try a 5150 III, from Fender. They're brutal amps as well.
