IMO it is best to mix amps that have a contrasting voicing.
such as one that has a high mid focus and one that has a low mid focus.
I also take it one step further and say the best way is to also use two different feels/characters.
I prefer the high mid amp to be the compressed/tight amp and the lower focused amp to be less compressed and more "open" sounding and feeling.
