I am having a really tough time trying to get this sound from my VH4 :(

The song is Dead tree by the band Dir En Grey. i am doing a cover with my band for the first time :D

please don't mind the Vocalist... he does some weird stuff, but desont do drugs (I promise haha). he was pretty sick, but does a very good job :)

The part I am playing is the guitarist on the left of the screen whose guitar always comes throught the left speaker (panned left?) and he plays through the VH4 :)

starting at around 1:36 he plays these chords through channel 3 (while the other guitarist plays some dead notes and harmonics) and I just cannot get these to come out sounding as clear as his do. i must be doing something wrong with the EQ cause I have tried everything concerning technique.

Tunning is Drop C# and I know he uses EMG's now, but when he didn't (a JB), it still sounded very clear... maybe even better.

Deep off, Pres. nearly maxed out.
I was definitely thinking there was very little bass/deep...

That kinda is weird, but I guess it works for the song haha.

No shit Papa likes bass.......

The bass on Diezel amps is simply the best, most awesome, thumping, projective massive sounding of any amp I have heard.

Papa loves Bass!!!!!

So do I.....

I´m sorry but when i listen to this vid it sounds like my amp with no deep and lot´s of presence.

Peter...these are japanese guys, and they seem to like Paul Gilbert, and he is well known for lot´s of presence:

haha! yeah they are :P

I wonder if they chang his EQ just for this song cause when I see them live, his deep EQ is around 10/11 and his bass is around there as well.

He´s playing a VH4 standart, 6L6 JJ through a 6 X 12" cabinet. The bottom end gets really loose with this cabinet. I was visiting the guys in Tokyo in November. I am under the impression that the microphone ( sounds like a SM57 but I´m not sure ) is right in the center of a V30. It doesn´t sound like this clip live!

Thanks for the info, Sir! :)

his cabinets (according to an interview/ guitar magazine they released) are custom 6x12 VHT's loaded with P50E's (pretty much a V30) which is funny because (before I knew this info) I loved the sound of this VHT 4x12 with the same speakers and I purchased it as my main and only cabinet. Then, I found out about his cabs and I said, "thats probably why I liked it so much" :)

It is one of my dreams to meet them and have a talk with them and a translator haha. I have technically met them at their VIP shows...
