His brother announced my band when I opened for Robin Trower.

Lets not forget the reverse v, the v with the crab claws (or was that an Epi?), the v with all the holes in it, etc.

I wonder how long they can keep this up? Someone posted a job opening (I think it was on Monster job website) for President of Gibson North America. Whoever they get should start reviewing positions and cleaning house in the design department, starting with whoever approves designs for production! Maybe its marketing, faulty market research? I'd be reviewing every department and division execs positions and decisions of the last 10 years, and making some major changes.

They are a "lifestyle" company after all, not a musical instrument company; selling and making money on the Gibson brand, not the actual instruments that got them there. I hope whoever takes over, puts instrument design, production and quality before t-shirts, barstools and playing cards and other licensed logo products! It would be a great change. Who knows, maybe if they make better guitars like those that built the legend, they would make even more money on lifestyle trinkets?
