It was a great, great show. They didn't really get too deep into their catalog, but they really kicked ass.
I've seen William DuVall with Jerry for years now in AIC and earlier in his solo stuff, and I never really thought he was THAT great...but last night the dude was ON. Obviously, Layne Staley's shoes are impossible to fill, but there were more than a few "goose-bump" type moments when DuVall and Cantrell were singing.
We were about 10 rows back, but well over on Jerry's side...I wasn't able to see any of his amps, but he was playing mostly his Rampages and the occasional LP, with a sparkly multicolored 3 single coil G&L for the songs requiring an acoustic-type tone. He also appeared to have EVH 2x12 cabs as monitors.
Them Bones
Dam That River
Again
Check My Brain
Hollow
Love, Hate, Love
Grind
Choke
Man in the Box
Nutshell
Acid Bubble
Stone
No Excuses
Rooster
Encore:
We Die Young
Got Me Wrong
Would?
