I've NEVER been a fan of Gary's vocals either, although Nuno was 1 of my bigger guitar idols since day 1.... UNTIL 7/2014 when I finally saw them . He really sang great , and the harmonies were just perfect. That's 30 years later , if ya know what I'm saying! Eric

Why would he use Marshall overseas while still having the Randall's on stage and not do the same on this side of the Pond? Most artists (slash and zakk for example) have their sig amps on stage (turned on) and the actual heads being used in the rack at the side of the stage (or back stage).

I'm not saying I 'know" . . Just wondering why he's lying in his interviews or if he says "when I use Marshalls" he only uses them sometimes. He had 1 of THE BEST TONES I've ever heard in any show and I've seen all my idols in concert for over 40 years now. Granted, they had a killer pa there, but we were close enough to hear the stage mix too. . . . . I have about 10 Marshalls ranging from a 1971 Superlead to a Fortin modded, Gower modded, Bradshaw Modded, Butler modded, Egnater modded, a Rockstah mod5, and others that are stock so I LOVE Marshalls, but I just think it'd be really weird if he covered that up , lied, set up 8 Randall stacks and then didn't even use the Randall. .Not saying "I KNOW" anything though Eric

I've never heard anyone rave about that amp , so that's definitely why I was so surprised his tone was KILLER.. Hmmmm...

Dude, Nuno doesn't use the Randall live, plain and simple. He sets up multiple "dummy" Randall's and a Marshall DSL behind them. Here is a backstage photo from the M3 rock festival (a U.S. tour date) from last May.

I caught up with Extreme in Cincy the other night. Wow what a great show! Met the band and they couldn't have been more gracious and approachable. They were un-rockstar like and that was quite refreshing. Especially Nuno, he was such a great guy.

As far as Nuno's tone, it sounded like he was using the Randall. I didn't see any other amps around. Either way his tone was monstrous!

AWESOME!!! I wish you could've asked him about the amps, as I was very close to the stage in New Hampshire and saw no Marshalls either. . Also the lo-end was different than DSL's. . Oh well . . . Glad you enjoyed the show , as it was 1 of my favorites. Eric

"2 of the NBKings heads you see were the prototypes which were in Extreme's storage in Boston and were brought to M3 as Nuno's main backline is in LA. They were made around 2008 and Randall recommended not to bring them on tour as they were designed just for testing and not road worthy yet. Nuno loved them so much that he still brought them out for the 2008 tour. Randall was right and we had a lot of issues with them on that tour. They are currently not working. The 3rd NBKing at M3 was Nuno's #1 main head that has been on the road with him for the past few years. We shipped it from LA and when it got to M3 something wasn't sounding right at soundcheck. We figured it got thrown around during transit and just may need to be re-biased or re-tubed but rather than take a chance, we pulled in a Marshall. Nuno was bummed but the show must go on!

Saw them in Minneapolis last night. For anyone interested, there was definitely an amp that looked like a Marshall sitting behind his NK stacks. I couldn't see the front of it from my vantage point, but it sure looked like a DSL to me. The setup looked just like the pic someone posted in this thread except he only had 2 full NK stacks instead of 3. The bottom right NK 4x12 was replaced with an angled Marshall 4x12 as well. It looked like the DSL (or whatever it was) was plugged into this cab and the other bottom NK cab. Both of those cabs were mic-ed up.

I don't care what he's running, he and the band were incredible as always. Gigantic Nuno fan here. He played what looked like a newer "4N" Washburn instead of his old "N4". And I know Gary doesn't float everyone's boat, but I don't think he was feeling very well last night and he gave everything he had and then some. Guy did not stop moving the entire show, consummate entertainer.

Deception. LOL. That's some funny shit. I know they do that already, but it still makes me laugh as most people don't realize that. Not that the average listener gives a shit. Sort of like Slayer who uses this wall x2, 1 set for each side of the stage, but only 4 plugged in.

I guess that's how Marshall got the original Slash Sig right. Just make an exact copy of what he used and changed the cosmetics
