The Martin Golub "Dookie Mod". It's the mod done to Billie Joe's amp during the Dookie era.

It's a Super Lead..........to me THIS sounds freaking amazing.

That first clip has a great crunch that would really cut. I would dial in just a touch more gain... But that's me. The second clip was more saturated, which obviously would be better for lead work, but it sounded muddy on the rhythm work to my ears. Nice mod tho... For sure

The first clip really nails bj's tone on the early records, he also on later stuff used golubs lead modded Marshall along with the dookie mod. Always wanted to have a Marshall modded by Martin, maybe someday?

One of Billie's 3 was for sale not too long ago. I almost picked it up just because. GD use to store there gear in the old TM.

thought the second clip was way better. Cleaned up to a great gritty clean tone that was sweet.

Yeah I too liked the second clip a bit better, BUT the first clip is an SM57 by itself....... tends to sound a little bit shrill and without much body (by itself........in a mix it cuts through like a ninja sword)

There was some great tone having with BJ's tone then. Sounds great
