my grandfather refused to talk about it. He was in the 101st airborne and was in the 506 PIR....he just wasn't in easy company like the band of brothers miniseries....but he ate the same dirt...he was there with them. Bronze star and a purple heart. My other grandfather was on a Harley or Indian motorcycle with Patton.....

That had to be a mind-shattering experience. Imagine walking into that camp. It's hard enough for me to watch videos of those camps when we liberated them, but to have been there... I can't comprehend it.

It’s out of fashion to note these days, but Russia bore the brunt with some 20 million dead and ultimately prevailed. That leaves a mark, and people don’t consider that in how they are protective of their borders vis-a-vis ukraine.

A lot of people are aware of the Russian mindset in regard to their borders. Putin would like nothing more than to have eastern Europe under his thumb.

You know he suffered all his life. He would hear an airplane in the middle of the night and jump up and go outside. Worst beating I ever took was when I set off a whole pack of firecrackers in the backyard…it took about a three count before he was outside and on me….lol

One more thing and I’ll stop…my grandfather the motorcycle scout….he would get drunk and get on the phone and try to call his old girlfriend in France. She couldn’t speak English and he had no idea how to get hold of her…and my grandmother would sit there getting madder by the minute till he cussed out the operator and hung up. Fuckin hilarious….
