I think I want a Dual Rec for Xmas ..... now which one ??

I’ve had a C, D, F and G, and the RI is my favorite. It’s the tightest, richest and juiciest, with the best mids and feel of them all imo.
It makes the mids of the others sound somewhat hollow in comparison.
The IIC+ HRG is also an equally killer RI.

I wonder...

Is the 90s RI tighter because of a tweaked circuit, or is it because we are comparing them to 30 year old amps with old components? My 5150 was dog shit when I got it, but it rips since I got it recapped. Those amps are about that age where they start to need caps and stuff.

Naw. I had a rev G back in the early 2000s and it sucked beyond belief. I didn't know about boosts back then...

The mt100 is even tighter than the 90s RI .

I really liked the MW Dual I had but it never got me quite there for thrashy rhythms that required super tight fast tracking response regardless of boost, cabs/speakers, guitar, etc. The 90s RI does and with better feel, clarity, and mids. It feels better under the fingers, has more grease/juice with tighter-faster response.
Can't disagree. The MW is a bit tighter than the G's but it does still need a boost if you are playing fast/technical metal.

I am just saying I think they are a better amp for the $$$ considering what Rev G's go for nowdays.

I haven't played the reissue yet, but it certainly gets rave reviews. I have a friend who bought one who absolutely loves it, so hopefully I can try one soon.

I think current 3 channel if playing it live. In the studio the RI seems good but that's just based on clips - I don't own one.

I always liked most dual/triple rectos honestly.

I'd wait and hold out for the RI Triple that's supposed to come out very soon from what I hear.

Makes sense given the internal gut shots. The circuit boards had some triple rec clues on them.

Ive got a ground zero triple rec and this thread is convincing me I need a dual rec RI lol

I think it seems/is tighter because the bass is less boomy and more usable.
I can run bass higher on the RI than I did with the others, and it gets fuller and punchier without overwhelming and flubbing out. The RI is the most balanced Recto I’ve played.

I would grab a RI, as well, were I in any position to be acquiring any gear any time

The real question is the Recto RI or the HRG RI

I bought G
Modded it to C
My tone to a T
Is all it can be
Now I want RI
Dual or Triple
Or maybe a MW
To go along with my Single

I would rather a Dual than a Triple on the reissue. I find Recto’s open up a little with some volume and I can’t trust an attenuator with a 150 watt amp.
