I think we need a Southern California Amp Fest..

I'm really looking forward to playing some of Cameron's creations... mods or otherwise, I've always heard great things about them, but never knew anyone who owned one.

Heck, I just like to geek-out on all this stuff.

This is funny....I didn't see this post before I asked if anyone could bring a SLO. I need to get my hands on one for my own comparison :thumbsup:

BTW, I've played the Cornford MK50 2 channel deal...cool amp, but not really my thing.

Maybe I tried a lemon.....or just didn't have enough time with it, allright....now you HAVE to let me play it! :yes:

Yo cyndicate, any update on ampfest. Have we got a date set ? Are we doing the 14th or 21st ?

Sorry went to Vegas this weekend, waiting on a response from Mark Cameron so after I hear back from him I'll know for sure.
 
If Mark can't do it... is there a possibility of having Tone Merchants in Orange to host the Amp Fest? They have a great sounding room with a stage, Auralex treatment to the walls, etc. I know it might be a haul for some of you, but I thought I would offer this up as an alternative just in case.

That would be cool if it doesn't pan out, but I don't personally know the owner of Tone Merchants, so it would be a stretch to ask, unless one of you guys do. I will give Mark a call later tonight maybe to work out final details, it's just been really busy for me lately. :)

I can make things happen at Tone Merchants if Mark has a scheduling conflict. I'm pretty tight with the store manager there, so, if need be, just give me the word.
 
The only day I could have made it for awhile would have been June 7, so since that is out, consider me no longer confirmed... :cry:

If it's in the OC and on the 14th I'll have to back out too - I got a gig in Santa Clarita that night.

Unfortunately, that's all too common with these type of things. A So Cal event was planned some time back and again, because of the complexity of getting everyone together at the same time, nada.

If this thing is on the back burner I'm going to un-sticky the thread. I'll stand by and watch the activity.
 
This is cyndicate's deal and I don't want to intrude, but I'm totally up for an amp fest. I'm personally going to wait thru the weekend and if nothing happens, then I'm going to make separate arrangements at Tone Merchants. I don't mean any disrespect to cyndicate... it's hard to get people together, and I really wanted to meet Cameron to try some of his amazing work. But at the same time, I would rather have something happen rather than let the whole idea go down the tubes. I know a lot of you live out in LA and can't make the haul... but between the LA and OC crew, I think there still will be a great turn-out.

I'm going to see how the weekend pans out and then proceed from there.

I am down for it. I was hoping cyndicate could possibly arrange it for the first weekend of July and once again it gives everbody a chance to plan around that date. Cyndicate, post a new date see if everybody is interested. Send a pm out to everyone who was going to go, if the their are no responses, than we'll cancel and get something going with ToneFreak.

No offense taken! I am good with whatever has a higher possibility of happening! I honestly have been really busy lately and haven't been on top of things like I should. If it means moving the date or another location I am down for anything as long as it happens, and if anyone wants to help and get the ball rolling faster than I can, fine by me! Thanks for taking initiative Tone Freak! I don't really mind where its held, who makes arrangements or someone else takes over, if its moved to OC better for me since I live in Irvine, I just put up the suggestion of an ampfest happening and honestly wasn't expecting myself to be in charge of planning everything :lol: :LOL: I think Tone Merchants is one of the best alternatives for us considering they have amps some of us would never consider buying :D
