I Went to the Hardware Store Last Night

We have 1KV breakers in the substation and have seen it first hand. For general use who cares but that shit does cause rust and gums up in mechanical mechanisms but in this instance it may help Bezo at the hardware store, I say use it lol

WD40 sucks for sure. But it's not water based and it doesn't "Cause" rust. It allows rust prematurely because it fucking sucks at water displacement. It sucks as lube too, but mainly because it doesn't last, at least in liquid form. I always laugh when I hear guys say shit like " I've been using WD to clean and lube my guns for 40 years". I imagine those guys never take their shit out of the safe and lube it monthly. Like dumbasses.

I've been using CLP for decades.

as for WD-40...I only use it to help clean rusted nuts and bolts.

I use Lucas Extreme CLP, but only for certain things. Primarily ARs, but sometimes handgun frame internals and hard to reach crevices in slides . I use solvents or Seal 1 for bores and barrels. I don't really use CLP as a lube. I like Slip 2000 and Wilson Combat stuff. I make my own BCG lube out of Slip 2000 EWG and EWL. CLP does an ok job as a cleaner and a lube, but it doesn't do a great job of either really. It's mainly just convenient.

Kroil is great for rusted shit.

Tell her she can stomp on Beez Nutz anytime she wants.

Hell, even I'd get over and get to stompin!!!

On a slightly related note: New waitress in an old restaurant in my town was clearly into me hard, to the point where she was forgetting how to talk or even take my order, just sit there staring at me and stuff. Super hot little thing. Me? Married. Sorry.

I overheard the waitresses talking all together at a table around that time and they were trying to tell the younger guy there about a certain type of confidence/sureness that is super attractive in men. He did not understand what they were talking about whatsoever.

Yeah, when you are married, you could care less about what the women you are talking to you think about you. Not nervous at all, why would I be?

Well, I get a lot more attention from women now, I think partially due to that.

Once I came in with my wife a bit later, the waitress was visibly saddened.

I mean, I have a tattoo on my ring finger of her name and wear a ring half the time, did not lead her on at all.

Just engaged in normal, confident, polite conversation, and she was all about it.

If she seems to be giving you any signs/signaling back, you gotta give it a shot!

Triflo for lubricant and kroil for rusty stuck together shit is the way.

No it isn't. 🤣

Exactly. WD stands for Water Displacement. In other words, it drives water out.

AI Overview
WD-40 is a secret formula but primarily a mix of petroleum-based solvents and oils, mainly aliphatic hydrocarbons (like naphtha) and mineral oil, with carbon dioxide as a propellant in aerosol cans, designed to displace water, clean, and penetrate.

Key components identified through analysis include nonane, decane, and mineral oil, which help it repel water and lubricate briefly.

Key Ingredients (Approximate Breakdown)
  • Hydrocarbons (Aliphatic): 45-50% (like naphtha, isoparaffin) that act as solvents to dissolve grime and evaporate quickly.
  • Petroleum Base Oils: <25% (mineral oil) that provide some lubrication.
  • Carbon Dioxide: 2-4% (propellant in aerosol).
  • Other Hydrocarbons: Trace amounts of trimethyl benzene, xylene, etc., providing specific solvent properties.
What it's NOT
  • It's not fish oil, silicone, or water.
  • It's not a true long-term lubricant; it's a water displacer and cleaner, with lubrication being a temporary effect.

I think that was it. I was far too focused on my tiny nuts for my pedalboard and didn't really notice the hardware store MILF until she was staring me down. I don't go to the hardware store to pick up chicks; I go there to get hardware.

Everyone knows the grocery store is where you go to pick up MILFs.

Deep creep. That's what I gotta go back and buy. I'll stare at her and smirk like she did and make it weird.
We think alike, you and I. I wonder if that is because I was a bassist primarily for a good chunk of my music building time. Still love my basses, but need to get to playing them more....and then eventually adding a few pedals I am sure. I have ZERO pedals for my bass and the same amp I have had since I was 13. Love that amp though!
