IBANEZ RG550 20th Anniversary serial number question.

Hey IBANEZ guys....I was looking at a mint 20th Anniversary RG550. My question is shouldn't the serial number on the neck plate match the serial number on the little sticker on the back of the head stock? Im not sure why but they are different.

I went and took a look at mine. The numbers do not match.

I searched around and finally found 2 where I could see the back of the headstock and the backplate and neither of those matched so I guess it's just normal for Ibanez.

On the 20th anniversary the number on the back plate is the anniversary sequence number, not the serial number. If I remember correctly should be 1987 or below.

I own two, the serials do NOT match. As stated above, the neck plate is the sequence of the anniversary models and are 0001-1987. The actual Ibanez serial number is on the headstock.
