I think it’s ignorant that you believe you have more of a right to be in this country than anyone else. I am just making an assumption here, but I assume you were born here and that’s why you are a citizen? If that assumption is true, Good for you, you did absolutely nothing to enjoy the privilege of being an American.
Compare that to someone risking everything to come here to make a life for themselves, or their families, and folks like you demonize them for it. I think that is ignorant and goes against the very fiber of what our country, and what “American freedom” was built upon.
If my assumption is not true, I would love to hear what went through to become a citizen.
I think it is short sighted, mostly because we (attempted to) talk about the actual laws of immigration and you seemed to not grasp that concept at all. So that leads me to believe your disapproval of them comes from a place of bias and not justice.
I also think you are not taking into consideration, ie short sightedness, the impact it will have on our labor force. I firmly believe that if an illegal immigrant and legal citizen both went for the same job, that most any company would hire the legal citizen. In my opinion, too many Americans either think they are above low paying jobs or realize they can make more off the government being unemployed. I think lazy Americans are a far bigger tax on our economy than illegal immigrants.
And if I may go off on a tangent, but still in the vein of short sightedness, I think all the maga fucks who are so blinded with range, mindlessly chanting to bring industries back to US soil, are forgetting or choosing to ignore that US made products will never be affordable to most Americans unless we start slashing minimum wage and pay rates. People are going to be forced to work shit jobs for shittier pay because it’s their only option. I think this is a huge step backwards for our country
