Sorry to be so boring but really keen to identify this Charvel so I can rest in peace. I have studied numerous photos of Charvels but have not seen one with a headstock the same shape as this. The seller said it was 80's Japanese. The serial number would suggest 90 maybe? It has a plain plate. A guy who set it up for me said the single coils look a bit "amateurish". But the thing is, it plays a.m.a.z.i.n.g.l.y. well.If this was made in India, I'm moving there haha. I own a few guitars, an old school Ibanez RG440, a nice Ibanez awd102, Godins. etc and this guitar plays perfectly, keeps perfect tune when strings are bent. The humbucker sounds fine to me, but maybe the single coils could be better.
Apologies if this is way off topic, but I did see a Charvel identification request here a while back, so maybe someone can help. here are the pix Hope these work. If not I'll try again

Thanks very much for that. I trawled through LOTS of Charvel pix of all shapes and sizes but couldn't find it and a Google search of Charvel headstocks did not show up that one. So it's Japanese. If this is not one of the better Charvels it makes me seriously want to pursue a great one...but my wife would club me to death with my remaining guitars first I suspect!!

I will install some upgrade Stratesque pups at neck and middle and will have a very nice guitar, for me anyway. It sounds cheesey about guitars "picking you" and not vice versa, but there is just something about every department of this guitar, fret spacing, incredible ability to stay in tune etc that makes me not want to put it down. I got it for $125, so pretty happy with that   and that's not a bad price way down here in the world

Thanks again ..I appreciate it.

The MIJ Charvels are great players....I had a model 4 that seriously destroyed everything in its path. Was my main guitar for years, I would put the USA and MIJ recent Charvels ahead of it but it was still a great player. Nice axe!

Now as a kind of self answering question, I am pretty sure it is CDS 045 circa 1992. Cool.
