Hey Dave,
I've just bought an used Marsha, and it had no manual with it.
The owner also didn't know any detail or specs.
It's a 50w, side block Marsha logo with centered chassis.
It also have the 4 inputs with the two preamp on two of the 4 inputs and footswitch jack.
No other switch or push pull. Also, no serial #.
Should I open the amp and search for any #s or where all the early Marshas like this?
By the way, top input has a lot more gain than bottom one.
Cheers

Mine is signed with # on the top of the chassis with a black marker, bought directly from Dave years ago. Top input is HBE and bottom is BE.

Thanks for the tip 21_guitars!
I'll take a look at it and post back here.
Cheers

Hey David,
thanks for the reply.
I just got home with the amp and noticed someone smashed two preamp tube retainers(I was able to fix one, but the other one was ripped) and the two power tubes. The amp got opened by customs at some point, since there was a customs tag between the packing and the amp.
Do you sell of these aluminum retainers? If so, I would like to purchase one to replace the damaged one.
Also, I've noticed the presence is not having any effect on the sound. I hear static noise when dialing the presence knob, but no presence effect is noticeable.
Thanks in advance for any help.
By the way, who is the girl from your avatar 21_guitars?

Thanks 21_guitars!
I was thinking about bringing it back to Friedman and ask for the the updated mods(FAT, SAT, VH, Loop..), but the amp sounds so good that I don't even think I will need the other mods.
I would like to get the Presence working, 'cause that does make a big difference when recording.
And you still have the best Avatars on the web!!!

I had Dave update mine a few months ago to the new BE specs, bright and VH switches, simple clean, line out, and all the switching for the clean, BE, and HBE. It sounds 100% better now!

Now I think I might have to bring mine to Dave for an update!
It's gonna be a pain traveling with the amp again, but I think it might worth taking the risk!
By the way, replaced the presence cap and everything is good.

Does anybody know where I could find one of this type of tube retainer? It's the aluminum enclosure that it's attached to the tube socket.
I'm trying to find one of these so I won't need to replace the entire tube socket.
Cheers

Probably have to replace entire socket, pretty sure the retainer and socket are one piece.

Thanks a lot LP Freak! I'm already ordering one!

Hi bwgintegra,
they are two different parts. I actually liked the idea of the tube retainer/shielding being a separate part. If they were a single piece, like most, I would need to replace the entire socket. Since they're not, it's gonna be an easy task.

Thanks a lot for the help guys!!!
