This is my first post here, just joined the forum.
I am building my own pedalboard from scratch having already built one a couple of years ago. On my old one I installed a cheap IEC socket and wired it up to a basic 2 socket mains extension lead mounted inside the board, this way I can plug in my power supply inside the board.
My question is on the new board, would it make a difference if I spent the extra money on something like a temple IEC module. I can't see what the value of one is as opposed to buying the cheap components and wiring them up myself. Is there some special filter or component that makes the worth the price tag?. Forgive my ignorance but up until now I believed Doing it as I had before was just adding a link in a chain.
