Would anyone blame them or be surprised.........

Would people care Fender amps and guitars arent made in CA anymore?

To be honest, I don’t know how any guitar or amp builder survives in CA anymore.

This is why I predict BAD will leave LA eventually. Those jobs there are not exactly high paying either. I remember hearing Iconic Guitars was moving from Carsbad to Nashville, but haven't seen it actually happen yet.

Fender should consider somewhere in the Midwest where it's sometimes cheaper than Texas or Arizona. Arizona especially, is not cheap anymore in many places.

I can see how this statement could be misunderstood, but it seems like CA attracts or generates talented people more so than other states. For an example the Jackson Custom wouldn't be able to find the same number of quality luthiers in a different state. Aren't most of the prominent USA guitars built in CA? I live in Minnesota, so not trying to defend CA.

CA is the most beautiful state in the nation but corruption has tarnished it.

If CA can get rid of the Newsom/Pelosi crime syndicate, people with businesses will flock there again.

I lived in San diego when I was 17. I had always visited and loved surfing. But living there, I realized I didnt like it despite it being so beautiful. Then I realized it was the Californians
It's such a shame. But, sooner or later people will have enough of it.

I would think AZ would be the natural choice, since Fender already has a good footprint in Scottsdale. Real estate is no longer cheap in the Phoenix area, but the state is very business friendly.

The area does attract some great talent, there’s no denying that.

It’s just a stupid expensive state to run a manufacturing business in. Real estate & taxes are astronomical compared to almost anywhere else in the US.

Then the wages you have to pay just to meet basic cost of living requirements, let alone if you want to keep good workers around for long periods; which is pretty essential for building instruments.

The higher end shops charging $3-4k for a guitar can kinda make that business model work, but it’s gotta be exponentially harder when you get well below that price point.

Here in San Diego, Chick-fil-a is paying people $28/hr to start. That’s right, the kid handing you your Diet Coke. I have NO idea how guitar and amp companies stay in business here.

The music industry doesn't pay well for the average worker. The allure of having a cool industry job is how they get you and ultimately how they have a 3.4/5 star rating on Indeed.

That's why I moved to AZ 5years ago. CA is a business nightmare. They even tried to charge me stuff after I dissolved the CA corporation and restarted it in AZ. They just suck.
Totally Respect Scumback for this…….

Honestly unless your a Billionaire which dude aint…….

You aint doing this for the money out of CA and well seeing your work I know you dont just do it for the money either.

Thanks for your work, Making something really special and providing it for players and others in the world and the States too….

That is what its all about ImO ^_^

The Brown & Getty lineage are part of that syndicate.
