I remember back in the golden age of Ebay in the early to mid 2000's didn't matter your gear always sold within a week or two unless you priced it in the atmosphere.
Seems like today, doesn't matter if its a 5 dollar switch or a 10,000 dollar custom guitar, it's never an easy sell. It's not like I don't post plenty of pics and clearly describe the condition and electronics. People still want to ask questions about how it looks when you pull it out during a full moon and if the flame maple will have a blue tint due to the moonlight because if it does they don't want it. Also if you can post a clip of you taking pics while you upload to Youtube the measuring of the nut and a decibel level check of the low E string while the guitar is unplugged.
I'm just not talking high end stuff, I am talking simple things like a 5 dollar switch for an amp. I took a pic of the front and back of a switch in one photo since I was selling a lot of switches I have. In the description it clearly states one switch but of course someone buys it expecting two switches.
Sold a Kemper profile for 10 bucks, gave the person a bonus profile no charge and then they get upset that the profiles didn't have cab profiles when in the description it clearly states no cab profile, it's a DI profile pack.
The other weekend I got a notification on Ebay that a guitar sold, couldn't believe it. No offer, no haggle just someone hit buy it now. I said no way got to be a catch it's never this easy. Then I got a message from the buyer moments later offering me a trade of two guitars I don't want or need (two newer common harder to sell guitars) for the guitar he just hit buy it now on. Of course long story short he says he hit buy it now on accident and wants to back out of the deal.
Like I said, I don't know what it is but why does every deal involve literal hand holding and constant reassurance when the description, feedback and excellent pictures are all there.
So frustrating.
