If we’re going to throw out obscure “blues” bands, how about ARS?I've always liked that tune and Canned Heat made for a legit blues band when they wanted to be.
Seems more like southern rock to me.If we’re going to throw out obscure “blues” bands, how about ARS?
OK, that’s fair. Still had some awesome tunes. That few people latched on toSeems more like southern rock to me.

I was the first in my area to get the album with "police! Police! on it. I'd put it on the turntable after everyone was stoned, right on that tune. As the sirens got louder, everyone started to panic...then I'd lift the needle up and lmao.Seems more like southern rock to me.
CH also did a tune with Little Richard "king of rock n roll". A shame to lose Bear at a young age. And speaking of extended cuts, "Refried Boogie" was 2 album sides.Since you guys got me started...lol.
Bob "The Bear" Hite had a 20,000 disc collection of blues 78s. Wow.
Plus Canned Heat were instrumental in another comeback, John Lee Hooker. They recorded a double LP with Hooker with the unfortunate title "Hooker 'N Heat". I'm positive they did that on purpose. It was funny at the time but the title hasn't aged well. The LP still has some amazing stuff plus some overly long self indulgent jams. Hey, that was a 'thing' back then. See also George Harrison's 'All Things Must Pass' for a bit of boring jamming put out just to fill out the LP.
That's where Jim Henson got the voice for Kermit the Frog then! It's Wilson singing on that tune. He was imitating Skip James high tenor sound.
Really sounds nothing like the rainbow connection though. That's where Jim Henson got the voice for Kermit the Frog then!
