Scary shit. I lived in Louisiana during Katrina. Knew it was coming but wasn't sure what to expect. Waiting for it sucked. Aftermath was worse than the storm itself. Good luck.

For the global warming thing: it's a fact and denying it will kill you and your children. That is by non means a government trick or some urban legend. If you don't believe the scientists, go out and speak to people who live close to glaciers or some others that can see the effects first hand. Here were I live the winters changed. The summers changed. Everything IS different from when I was a child already. And things are speeding up. Not sure it we can stop or reverse things, but at least we should do everything we can to not increase the problem further. We owe that the next generations.

Global warming is not a matter of believe or not. It is a fact. North Pole is 5 degrees above all time high. It is like saying I don't believe in gravity. Even if you don't you will fall down. So not acting is destroying your kids lives. If you think that is a reasonable way to act, explain to your children when they suffer, hunger or die from it.

They expect it to stregthen over the warm waters betweeen Cuba and the Keys. Projecting a Cat4 when it hits the Keys on up to the mainland.

Interesting (and understandably) to hear the rhetoric change on local news. It went from south florida being leveled to "ya know, our houses are now built to sustain 125mph winds".

It's expected to intensify, once it hits open water before landfall. There's open water in that span from Cuba to Florida, and warm water acts like rocket fuel to reorganize, and intensify. It WILL gain strength, it will go cat 4, at the very least. It's inevitable.

Yes, I'm trying to keep a positive attitude.. I'm well aware of the water temps in the gulf and how that affects strengthening.. I lived in florida my whole life. Hang in there guys...

It's here.... the bad sh!t is just passing over Miami right now at 11:30am EST... it started to go down hill around 8:00am. So much for it going to the West and missing South Florida.
