WHich four mods would you pick for your first M4.
I started with:

Erect
EG5
If I did it over, I would do:

Well, when I got my MOD 50, I originally got Vx and MHG. Now, I use Bman and SL2X most of the time so Id say that.
If I was doing M4, I would do:
Bman
COD
SL2X
EG5
NO DOUBT.

NO DOUBT.

Too soon to tell. I don't feel like I'm missing anything. If I had to do it over I would have probably kept my RM4 so I would have a place to put by Blackface, 2 plexi's, and JF Deluxe. I did get a COD out of the deal though. Great module.

...I'm not a M4 user, but I started with EG3/4 and COD in my MOD50. I think I would have added EG5 and T/D if I had got M4.
Now I would get:

. . . but I'd also need to have at least SL2 or (SLX?) on hand, and probably add COD and either EG5 or MHG. When they sound so great, eight channels of preamp just isn't enough!?!? For my current 'serious' gig, I actually use 7 or 8 channels of the M4 for almost every show (and the M4 is the only preamp I use for it, and all dist/OD/preamp/boost pedals have been removed from my rig and I don't miss them at all). I'm also running theremin and bass through the M4 from time to time.
