I bought concert tix to the kick-off in Louisville (before the album and snippets were released). I was really worried that I was making a mistake. Guess not!! Can't wait till saturday. Anyone else from RT going to the Louisville show?

Daaaayum. Looks to me as though I gotsta buy this just due to pop alone!! Seems to be getting great press... And I'm not a VH fan by nature, but hey, if it's offering good guitar work and some ol' school DLR steez, I think I'll dig it.

1-800- Tell me Baby!

Dave used the "1-800" line in two tunes on the album, which is a little silly to me, since 800 numbers are so old-school anyway.

As I listen to the album, I like it more and more. Outta Space is awesome, one of the best on the album. As-Is rules, and the end with the "La-la-la-la" is stuck in my head!

My girlfriend gave me tickets for Valentines Day! I'm so pumped! Turns out she got in on the pre-sale and held out this long. We're also going with one of my best friends and his wife. Wicked! Toronto show in March! :D

And just to show how much we're alike, I got her tickets to Roger Waters - The Wall! hehe

I love the album and have been listening to it in my car to/from work the whole week. My favorite spots:

- Tattoo is growing on me big time. I just love Dave's "Tongue in Cheek" lyrics.
- Honeysweetiebabydoll is an awesome song. Almost sounds like Joe Satriani in some parts.
- The solo in Chinatown sounds like it could have been on "1984". Sounds more like his classic tone than any other part of the album.
- Stay Frosty kicks ass as well. :)
- You and Your Blues. What else can you say that hasn't been said? Love the blues song references. :)

When I first heard a little sample of Tattoo, I was very disappointed. I bought it anyway and I like every song on it even Tattoo. EVH can still rock the shit out a guitar.

And like RVS said, this CD is in my top 7 Van Halen releases of all time. I think we know which 7 those are. ;)
I knew you were a smart man. We may make you an honorary Canadian yet.

It is time to listen to VH again for me. Sammy just never did it for me with VH. It was too far away from the VH music I grew up listening to. All this...love you, love me sappy stuff. I dig Sammy Hagar's 'Standing Hampton' album much more than anything he did with VH.

I think the best tone on the album has to be "Outta Space". For the "most likely to fit on Diver Down" song, "Blood and Fire"!

Does anyone else feel like Ed is SO on fire on this album that they will never be able to learn the tunes? I sure do (except for the intro to Outta Space, which I think I can get)!
