IIC+ thrashy clip

Many IIc+ clips I've heard (this one included) seriously remind me of a boosted Marshall 8200

Not that that's a bad thing; I just find it interesting

thats the last amp i really need, not sure why i never got one over the years. they are literally everywhere on my favorite 90s hardcore and metal recordings.

Sounds badass man. Can I ask how you mic'd it? I can get mine to sound like that in the room but have trouble getting that heavy, thick sound recorded.

its an Audix D2 right on the center of the cone, of all the mics i have it gives the best "in the room" while still working in a mix. other than that its just tape machine, a little dip at 1.2khz and a dash of reverb. i never have to do much work with the d2

Sounds very... 80's. That's what it sounds like. Must be that reverb?? Other than that, cool stuff.

The reverb is barely noticeable, just ads the slightest amount of roundness. It sounds like the 80s cause I’m playing real drums with no samples and not gridded up through a lot of gear from the 80s lol

I've always been amazed how those amps are an instant Metallica-in-a-box tone. The MKIII Red HRG I had I needed to tweak some to get close but I got there. Can't wait for my V to arrive! Good stuff man!

Both the clip you provided and the above YouTube one handed drummer made my morning.

been so pumped on my overrated iic+ last few days i just had to record a clip this morning. its my Kelly with invaders and 1960a. went with my darkglass pedal for bass on this one trying some things. tried some other things mixing as well

Cool verse riff.
You need a human in the drums.
The problem with machines is they are extremely
flexible in a rigid kinda’ way.
Remember Bishop from Aliens?, BINGO.
“Not bad for a human?”,…,
-walk home boy..you bucket of bolts!!!!
